Jonah Hill Stars in a New Movie Where His Jewish Character Marries A Woman From the Nation of Islam

New Jonah Hill movie. Jonah Hill is starring in a new movie, You People, about a Jewish man falling in love with a girl whose family are members of the Nation of Islam. Eddie Murphy plays the dad and Farrakhan devotee.
Why it matters. You People looks like another version of Guess Whose Coming to Dinner, the 1967 classic movie about interracial marriage. But, the Nation of Islam is an officially designated hate group. Louis Farrakhan, the leader, as one of the country’s most well-known antisemites has a long public history of openly spreading conspiracy theories and calling for violence against the Jewish people. The film is written by Jonah Hill (Superbad, The Wolf of Wallstreet, Moneyball) and Kenya Barris (Black-ish, Grown-ish, Shaft). Barris also directs the film.
The cast. The film also stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Lauren London, David Duchovny and Nia Long.
