Steven Spielberg Wins Two Golden Global for The Fablemans

Spielberg won two Golden Globes. Monday, January 12, 2023 – Steven Spielberg won two Golden Globes for his latest biographical movie The Fabelmans. In his speech after winning the Golden Globe for Best Director for a Motion Picture, Spielberg said, “I think there is five people happier than I am. There is my sister Ann, my sister Sue, my sister Nancy, there is my dad Arnold and my mom Leah. She is up there kvelling about this right now.”
Why is matters: The Fablemans is Spielberg’s own biopic. The Fabelmans also won the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture for Drama. It tells the autobiographical story of a young Steven Spielberg, named Sammy Fabelman and played by Gabriel LaBelle, growing up in post-War America in Arizona. Sammy’s idyllic childhood is shattered when he discovers a tragic secret about his family. In order to cope with his newfound trauma and understand the truth around him he turns to filmmaking.
The cast. The Fabelmans also stars Michelle Williams and Paul Dano as Mitzi and Burt Fabelman, Sammy’s and Spielberg’s parents, Judd Hirsch, Seth Rogen, Keely Karsten and Mateo Zoryan as the younger Sammy. The Fabelmans was Directed by Steven Spielberg and Written By Steven Spielberg and Tony Kushner.
