By Aaron Gold

February 22, 2023, Berlin. The first look of Golda is finally here! It premiered at the Berlin Film Fesival and the first reviews are out.
In the clip, Prime Minister Golda Meir talks with Henry Kissinger, the United States Secretary of States about the demands Russia is making. Helen Mirren, who stars as the Israeli PM, really takes on Golda’s persona. She tells Kissinger about what Russia used to do to Jews like her family as an example of why she does not trust Russia in the current situation.
This is not the first time Mirren has taken on a Jewish role. She played a Mossad agent in The Debt and a Jewish refugee that takes on the Austrian government to recover her family’s artwork that was stolen by the Nazis during WWII in Woman in Gold. Golda is written by Nicholas Martin (Florence Foster Jenkins and The Indian Doctor) and directed by Guy Nattiv (Magic Men and The Flood).
