New Israeli show will explore Herzl’s life

New series about Herzl. Wow! There is going to be an Israeli tv miniseries about Theodore Herzl, the Jewish Austro-Hungarian journalist and חוזה המדינה or Visionary of the State who founded and led the World Zionist Congress. Ori Elon, the writer and co-creator of Shtisel is behind the project.
Same actors as Shtisel. Many of the same actors on Shtisel are slated to be in the show: Michael Aloni (Shtisel, The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem, Plan A), Neta Riskin (Shtisel, The Spy, Shelter), Dov Glickman (Shtisel, Munich Games, The Conductor) and Sasson Gabay (Shtisel, The Angel, Gett).

Why Herzl and zionism matter: Jews are indigenous and have a 4,000 continuous presence in the land. Despite the many expulsions, massacres, genocides, and periods of discrimination, subjugation and colonization, Jews still maintained a continuous presence in the Land of Israel, the land they originate from and are indigenous to.
Throughout the diaspora, Jews never gave up their connection to the land and never gave up their intention to return to it. There were many significant Zionist movements and waves of immigration back to the land over the past 2,700 years beginning with the return after the Neo-Assyrian and Babylonian Exiles and the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem.
During a worldwide wave of nationalism and decolonization in the 1800s, Theodore Herzl went from a skeptic to a modern Moses in that he, perhaps more than anyone in his time, was responsible for the fulfillment of the 2,700-year Zionist dream to once again establish a Jewish state in Israel.
